Crappity crap crap crap! Meijer shopping trip 9/17/2011

First, I'm going to preface this with- this is what I wrote on the comments section of my survey that I completed for Meijer: I typically LOVE Meijer and shop there at least 1-2x/week. AT LEAST. I try not to go to store #311 because of the cashiers (there's one or two that I adore- Jeri Randolph is one of them, as well as Erich; the rest are very very unfriendly- not greeting customers, etc). Today was a completely exhausting trip due to an extremely rude cashier. I'm a couponer (not an extreme one, but one none-the-less). I was buying a total of 11 items within 2 orders. The first order was 4 boxes of Barilla whole grain pasta for $.99/ea. The register spit out a catalina, the cashier handed me my receipt, but refused (even when ASKED) to give me my CAT. She continued to ring up my 2nd order, I, again, asked for my CAT from the 1st order (did this 3x total during this order; each time, she REFUSED to give it to me by ignoring my request). Before completing my 2nd order, I also asked for a rain check, which she quickly wrote out for me, without saying a word, but still refused (a 5th time) to give me the CAT from the 1st order. I reluctantly paid for the items as is (with my coupons I brought with me) and proceeded to the customer service desk, where I had a great interaction with a young man named Corey (he seemed a little new, but was very nice). He called over a manager that was on duty, after explaining my situation to the mgr, he apologized. I really would like to hear an apology from Devika, the cashier that rang me up, but I'm sure that will never happen. This has set in stone, that I will forever do self check out at this location. Again, I love Meijer and this was an extreme case of being irritated by one person in the store, who could have completely changed the outcome of my experience by just simply handing me the catalina that I was owed.

I personally just had a friend in the outer Chicago area, go to her local Meijer, and do this transaction 3x with the pasta and never once was refused the catalina or questioned. She even took the CAT from the first 2 orders and used them for the 3rd set of four boxes of pasta (so she got them completely free).

Thank you
